Helping parents to succeed with SBAC

We’re the parents of a second grader that’s about to head to the third grade. As you know, the SBAC test starts in the third grade and goes up to the eleventh grade. Since this is the first year of the SBAC, we had many concerns and questions.  Some of the concerns I heard was does the school have enough computers to allow all the students to take the tests within the time frame.  Another concern I heard was are the computers compatible with the tests.  is it a disadvantage if my son have to take the test on a 10 inch Ipad while other students were on computer desktops using 21 inch monitors.  These are just some of the concerns I thought of and I was having a hard time finding out from their website any information relating to these concerns.  I thought it might be a good idea to put some of my concerns onto a website and have other parents who share similar concerns post their thoughts and share some of their own concerns.  Maybe together, we can help our schools come up with some ideas to improve on the preparation for the testing.

Goals for sbac.org

The goal for sbac.org is to provide a forum for parents and educators to share their thoughts and ideas in regards to SBAC and how we can help our kids receive the best opportunity to succeed in taking the SBAC tests.
